Summer School of Vacuum Technology
Summer School of Vacuum Technology (SSVT) are organized annually by the Czech Vacuum Society in various locations in the Czech Republic, always at the turn of May and June. They deal with various branches of physics using vacuum technology and related technologies. The schools are designed to provide comprehensive information even to those workers who are starting out in the field. Selected topics are lectured by renowned Czech experts from academic institutions and industrial companies.

The International Space Station orbits the Earth at an altitude of about 400 km. It flies in an imperfect vacuum with a lot of residual atmosphere. This causes the station to experience low aerodynamic drag and must occasionally correct its orbit.
